participatory design week, Gropiusstadt 2024
furniture design and build


The project week / workshop focussed on actively exploring the spaces available to young people in the district and creating opportunities for participation through accessible participatory design and construction techniques.

In collaboration with the local youth and the Wutzkyallee Youth Center @jzwutzky we built tables, benches, and chairs. The furniture, made from reinforcement steel, wood, and concrete, highlighted hands-on experience with raw materials and simple techniques like bending, cutting and welding.
The building week was part of bauhaus@gropiusstadt, supported by the Youth Culture Initiative, funded by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion, backed by @berlin.mondiale and co-initiated by the bauhaus-archiv berlin and community coordinator Juana Schulze.
